Welcome to our very first home!
House of James #1 was established and rescued their first 5 children in 2006.
Vica, at 11 years of age, was our very first rescue. She is now grown up, attended the University is married and now has a child of her own. She currently teaches kindergarten in the very same village she was raised in at our first home in Selyshche.
Denise, another child rescued early on at the age of 13, also graduated from House of James and is now serving in the Ukrainian Army.

Max
Max was born on June 20, 1995 and was rescued in 2006 with his littler sister, Luda, and his little brother, Turas. Due to his mother and father being extreme alcoholics, he was sent to an orphanage where he did not see his siblings for over a year prior to coming to the House of James #1 where they were united. Max's father later died of alcohol poisoning.
Turas
Turas was born on April 11th, 1998. He was rescued in 2006 with his siblings, Max and Luda. He was separated from them for quite some time, however, that all changed when he was reunited with them at House #1. He is currently attending college.
Luda
Luda was born May 12, 2000. She was rescued in 2006 along with her older brothers, Max and Turas. Her mother is an alcoholic and was unfit to care for her children. Luda's father and grandma both passed away from alcohol poisoning. She graduated high school in 2018 and is currently attending the University.
Rita
Rita was born on November 16th 1996. She was rescued in 2007 with her sister, Lelaw and her brother, Valira. Their mother passed away in 2006. Her father is currently imprisoned. She has received many awards and medals in track and field. She was also award a full ride scholarship and graduated from the University with a Physical Education Degree. She is currently pursuing her Master's Degree in the same field.
Lelaw
Lelaw was born March 9th, 1999. She was rescued in 2007 with her siblings, Rita and Valera. Her mother died in the summer of 2006 and her father passed away beforehand. Lelaw is the 2017 European Kickboxing Champion within her category. She has graduated high school and is currently attending the University.
Valera
Valera was born October 19th, 2004. He was rescued in 2007 with his older sisters, Rita and Lelaw. His mother died in the summer of 2006 and his father died around the same time. He was living in a small crib at the hospital for 6 months prior to being united with his sisters at House #1.
Kristina
Kristina was born February 26th, 2002. She was rescued in 2008 along with her older brother, Denise. Their father was in prison and their mother, an alcoholic. She does very well in school and loves having so many brothers and sisters. She is a huge help around the home with the smaller children.
Alosha
Alosha was born on January 10th, 2003 and rescued in 2016 with his younger brothers, Ruslan and Bogdan. We do not have a lot of information at this time but we do know that both of their parents struggle with addiction.
Ruslan
Ruslan was born on September 18th, 2004 and rescued in 2016 with his brothers, Alosha and Bogdan. We do not have a lot of information at this time but we do know that both of their parents struggle with addiction.
Bogdan
Bogdan was born on February 21st, 2007 and rescued in 2016 with his brothers, Ruslan and Alosha. We do not have a lot of information at this time but we do know that both of their parents struggle with addiction.
Vladik
Vladik was born May 16th, 2000. He is the house parents' son. He attended music school and learned to play the acoustic guitar. He is currently attending college studying music.
Roma
Roma was born on October 31st, 2005. He is the house parents' biological son. He always has somebody to play with around the house and he loves that! He is really into video games but he also loves adventuring outdoors.
Pasha
Pasha was born May 15th, 2015. He is the biological son of the house parents. He has brought a lot of joy to all the children at House of James 1.
